Three honest answers

Veg: the recognized, readable ingredients fit this rule set.

Non-veg / not suitable: a prohibited ingredient was found.

Not readable: retake a clear, close photo of the full ingredients list.

A chemical name or formula does not always reveal animal or plant origin. No photo can prove what a manufacturer has not disclosed.

Offline use, privacy & sources

Wait for “Ready offline” once while connected. Then reopen in the same browser or add this page to your home screen. About 20 MB is saved for the reader; clearing site data may require setup again.

Photos and text are processed locally, held only for the current page, and never sent to a scanning service. No account, scan counter, tracking script, or payment is used. The web host can still receive ordinary page-request logs while online. Existing accounts from the old site are not deleted by this update.

Fast results are a target, not a 1–2 second promise on every phone. Cold startup, long labels and older phones can take longer. English labels are supported; other languages and unreadable text should not receive a green result.

This independent tool is not a food certification or allergy checker, and cannot detect ingredients outside the photo. Treat uncertain results as a reason to check with the manufacturer.
